Rottweiler dog portrait in oils

Baloo - 10" x 8" oil on linen

There never seem to be enough hours in the day to paint, walk the dogs, cuddle the dogs and cope with all the normal hundred and one (or in my case one hundred and one!) things of normal day to day living. Some items get left and in my case, keeping my blog up to date has been suffering.

Today's painting is a recently completed oil of a lovely sweet rottweiler who I have had the honour of bringing back for his owners.

If you would like to commission a painting please email me at info@azpaintings.com. Please bear in mind that there is a waiting list but if you have a specific date you require the painting for or there is some other urgency about its completion, do ask as I can often move things around to accommodate such requests.

Rottweiler pet portrait commission

Rottweiler - 10" x 8" oil on canvas

A recently completed commission. As usual with a dark painting it's difficult to get an accurate photo but this is reasonably true to life.

Rottweiler

Rottweiler - 5" x 7" oil on hardboard/masonite

I have just managed to get a better photograph of this painting (well remembered to do so to be honest) and thought I would tell you about the first time I got to know a rottweiler. It was many years ago, when we lived in London near Hyde Park. A couple who lived near us had two young rottweilers and the wife told me that her husband had wanted two guard dogs - they were rather wealthy! - but she had wanted two cuddly, pretty dogs and so they settled on rottweilers as being the perfect match. Well, I never discovered how they were at their guard duties, although I suspect very good, but as cuddly, pretty dogs they were perfect and certainly very friendly to those invited to their house, just wanting to play!

It's a shame rottweilers have developed a reputation for aggressiveness because although very strong, when they are properly brought up, they are lovely dogs.

Rottweiler dog

"Dark Guardian" - 7" x 5" oil on hardboard/masonite

I may well not be working on many small paintings in the future as I am planning to concentrate on creating some larger wildlife paintings alongside my commissions. I've had this painting nearly completed for a while now and so just added the finishing touches to it yesterday.

Rottweiler pet portrait

Reflections - 5" x 7" oil on hardboard/masonite

The August challenge on the Daily Painters International Art Gallery blog was "Reflections" and so I thought this painting, completed last year, would be a suitable entry. I also posted it in the Artists International Gallery and was amazed at the incredible amount of comments (all nice by the way!) it received - and from a bunch of very talented artists. Of course I was absolutely thrilled.

Reflections by Anne Zoutsos

Reflections - 5" x 7" (approx) oil on hardboard/masonite

I thought I would have fun with this painting by adding lots of reflections in the floor. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed painting it (which was a lot!)

10% donation to Old Dog Haven once sold. Those who read my blog regularly will know that this is a charity I often support as I feel that homeless old dogs in particular have a tough time finding a forever home.

SOLD

This painting is straight off the easel and will need to dry for several days before it can be shipped
