Red Squirrel - wildlife oil painting

Red Squirrel - 5" x 7" oil on hardboard/masonite

SOLD

The number of these little creatures living in the British Isles has dramatically decreased since the arrival of the grey squirrel from America in the 1800's but efforts are being made to try and help with their survival. There is a website dedicated to this work called the Red Squirrel Survival Trust whose Patron is HRH The Prince of Wales. If you're interested in finding out more about the red squirrel you might want to visit their website www.rsst.org.uk

This painting is straight off the easel and will need to dry for 2-3 weeks before it can be shipped

Based on a photograph by Peter G Trimming at flickr

"Squirrel Nutkin" is absolutely adorable, Anne! I do hope they are making a comeback against those interlopers from across the pond. :)
